Talladega Gets Hot at Finish
Well as everyone saw yesterday, Jeff Gordon got a 21 beer salute thrown at his car in honor of his win. I think that's so thoughtful. Now that I'm done being sarcastic, what is going through these people's minds? Why would you throw stuff onto the track? A) Someone can get hurt and B) You were warned like a billion an a half imes before the race to not throw garbage! I want to know what they thought would happen when they would do it. Did they think they would be held up like heroes for throwing a $5 beer onto the track? HELLO!!!!! THERE'S A REASON THE STATE POLICE WERE THERE!!!! I think it was great that they started arresting the people who threw stuff. People, think before you act. Now lets get to my winners and losers of yesterday's race. I call it "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly," for obvious reasons.
The Good
Jeff Gordon: Well that's 2 in a row so he has lots of extra points going into the chase. The way he's running, the chase is as good as over.
Jimmy Johnson: A 2nd place finish boosts his positioning especially with Jeff Burton's 34th place finish.
David Gilliland: Wow ran pole speed and had a Top 5? I'd take that.
Jamie McMurray: Wow, another high finish. You would think people would start realizing he's a top teir driver. Hey I've been saying it for a while.
Casey Mears: Now before you get on me for this let me explain. He ran in the Top 5 all day, his car was dialed in, if not for a miscommunication, he walks away with a top 5.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.: After giving props to Jeff Gordon and showing how mature he is, Jr. runs a great race. He will start layin down good finishes every week.
Kasey Kahne: He finally lays down a finish he's capable of doing every week. A few more like this and he may be hunting for a trip to the show.
The Bad
Denny Hamlin: He has had great cars the last few weeks but has nothing to show for it, and now he has a 21st to add to the list of poor finishes that should have been Top 5s.
Juan Montoya: Yeah he has run great but he still is going through some growing pains as shown by his 31st place finish.
Clint Bowyer: Not a great finish for a guy who can be a Top 10 driver every week.
The Ugly
Tony Stewart: Wrecks and tempers. Tony Stewart has to cool down and drive cleaner. Yeah he got taken out but let's face the facts, he puts himself in places where either the only 2 choices are he wrecks or the other guy wrecks. C'mon Tony Stewart take a lesson from Jr.
Kyle Busch: In the Kyle Busch race(hahaha Kyle Busch in Kyle Busch...sorry had to laugh) he got taken out and looked like a fish outta the water flipping and turning. Fast Foward...In the Nextel Cup race he got taken out and looked like a fish outta the water flipping and turning.
Jeff Burton: Mr. Consistensy may be happy he didn't lose a position in the standings, but he lost some ground and JJ is catchin up.
Fans: After getting warned before the race they decide that it would be better to just chuck their beers at Jeff Gordon. Go join Tony and learn how to be have from Jr.
